Hanagasa Ondo (花笠音頭)
Here’s another flower dance! This Japanese folk song from the Yamagata Prefecture accompanies a dance performed with a flower straw hat. It is sung with style by Akiko Hiroshima and Sumie Kaneko, accompanied by Kaoru Watanabe on taiko drums and fue. You can join Kaoru, Akiko, Marianna and myself on the kakegoe, or responses, by yelling "choi, choi!" and "ha yassho makasho!"
